Becoming an Official

If you have a passion for football and are looking for a new and exciting way to get involved in the sport, join our team!

Football officiating is a unique and greatly rewarding way for former players and other self-motivated individuals to contribute to the game for the betterment of the sport and its participants. As an official, you will serve a critical role in helping to promote ideals of sportsmanship and fair play, which form the foundation of any athletic contest.

Our nationally certified clinicians will provide you with all the training necessary to get started on the field and the knowledge required to advance to the highest levels of amateur football in Canada.

If you are interested in officiating tackle football please contact our Second Vice-President, Jamie Patterson via email at secondvp@mfoa.mb.ca or Tom Hallem by phone (204) 253-2774.

The amateur football season generally begins in mid-August and continues through the end of October or early November each year. For new officials, a training clinic is conducted prior to the start of the season (normally towards the end of July).

So don't just sit there, get in the game!
